Tourism is now open at the Smithville Train Station, 288 Station Street, Smithville.  Come in & check out the many brochures we have and get a glimpse of our renovated train station.  

The Archives are open Tuesday & Wednesday from 10am - 4pm (April-November) & we can be reached then at 905-957-0138.  To make an appointment during off-hours, Call 905-957-4247 or 905-957-7816.  Also contact the archives at archives@wlhs.info

Events

General meetings are held in the Train Station from September to June on the first Thursday of each month.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Look at what is coming.

Come and hear our guest speaker & hear about the #6 Dunnville RCAF Museum, opened in 2004.

25th Anniversary of the West Lincoln Historical Society

Date is not confirmed as we are waiting for the return date of our Tremaine map that we sent out to get restored.  That will be our centre of attraction as we have waited 5 - 6 years for it's return.  So check this site out for the date.

October 2, 2008, 7:30 pm

Have you ever wondered how to make furniture by Caning?  Come hear Karen Sneath demonstrate to us how to refinish antique furniture that needs to be recaned.

October 18, 19, 10a.m. - 4 p.m.

This is part of the Open Doors Niagara tour.  The Train Station will be open so you can learn about the History & Architecture of one of the unique train stations in Canada.  We are listed on many train & Train Station web sites around the world as a site to see.  Here's your chance.

November 6, 7:30 pm

Have you wondered about the little hamlet of Tintern & it's history?   Eillen Moore will inform us how Tintern came into being & what all has happened there.

December 4, 2008, 1 p.m.

Then again, we have our annual Christmas Potluck Banquet.  Come and celebrate with us at this memorable occasion.  Call us to let you know you're coming so we can let you know what to bring.
